Alder Hey runs an epilepsy nurse specialist service, providing advice and support is provided for children and their families who have epilepsy. Children referred to the service will be seen in a new patients clinic to provide education and information about epilepsy. Lifestyle issues are discussed, questions answered and safety advice given. Alder Hey also hosts, jointly with Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, a specialist epilepsy surgery service, which has been proven to be a successful way to treat epilepsy.
